Chandigarh, December 4

The Indian men logged their second consecutive victory in the ongoing International Kabaddi Tournament at Guru Ramdass Stadium in Guru Har Sahai (Ferozepur) today.

The hosts registered an easy 63-22 win over Sri Lanka to pull off their second win of the tournament. Vinay Khatri gathered the maximum number of points for the winners, while catcher Kanwaljit was the other top performer for the hosts.

The Indian team is now leading Group A with three points from two matches.

In the other matches of the day, England managed to edge past a Australian team, 43-33, and the Canadian team overpowered New Zealand 43-34.

The Guru Ramdass Stadium hosted the international kabaddi matches for the first time today. The event was inaugurated by Punjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi.

Six countries — hosts India, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and England — are participating in this tournament, organised to celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
