Man loses purse to snatchers

CHANDIGARH: Two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreant sped away after snatching a purse containing Rs 9,000 in cash from a man in Sector 26 here on Wednesday.

Two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreant sped away after snatching a purse containing Rs 9,000 in cash from a man in Sector 26 here on Wednesday.

In his complaint to the police, Hari Parsad of Timber Market in Sector 26 stated that the snatchers targeted him near the Grain Market bus stop. He was going to the market to buy vegetables when the accused came on a Splendor motorcycle and snatched his purse he was holding in his hand.

The accused were not wearing helmets. The victim managed to note half of the registration number of the bike. A case was registered at the Sector 26 police station and an investigation initiated. It was later found that the bike used in the snatching was stolen from Bapu Dham Colony on Tuesday night.

In another case, two motorcycle-borne persons snatched a mobile phone from one Harpreet Kaur near her house in Sector 42 here today.

The police have been informed about the incident.
