Mohali witnesses 18 burn cases

Eighteen persons, including nine children and three women, received eye and burn injuries during while celebrating Diwali here.

The Mohali Civil Hospital received as many as 15 cases. Of these, three were of eye injuries and rest burn injuries. One case of eye injury and two cases of burn injuries were reported from Eye Hospital in Sohana.

Mukul Bhardwaj  (14) from Panchkula received injuries in his left eye and was admitted to the Sohana hospital. Bunty (17) from Badhmajra also sustained eye injury while bursting crackers and was admitted to the Mohali Civil Hospital. Two other patients with eye injurie were Gore Lal (33) and Amol (23) from Badhmajra. The children with burn injuries included Ramandeep Singh (6) from Desu Majra, Neeraj (6) and Mohit (9), both from Sector 56, Chandigarh, Urmila (7) and Prabhnoor Kaur (7), both from Mohali, Sanju (10) from Jujhar Nagar, Prabhjot Singh (13) from Sector 56, Chandigarh. All the children turned up to the Mohali Civil Hospital for treatment. Three women, who got burn injuries and were treated at the civil hospital, included Sarabjit Kaur (28) from Madanpur, Mandip Kaur (37) from Behlolpur and Annu (20) from Sunny Enclave, Kharar. Dr Surinder Singh, SMO, Mohali Civil Hospital, said all the cases were minor and the patients were sent back after treatment.
