MOHALI:Two members of a family had a narrow escape after their Honda City car caught fire all of sudden on the Airport Road near the Indian School of Business here on Sundayafternoon.

Mohali, May 20

Two members of a family had a narrow escape after their Honda City car caught fire all of sudden on the Airport Road near the Indian School of Business here on Sunday afternoon.

The car was charred completely and its occupants managed to come out of the vehicle. The car belonged to Varinder Singh Bhalla, a resident of Sector 91, here.

Giving information, Varinder Bhalla said he was going to Delhi with his brother-in-law Ravinder Singh when the incident took place.

“When we reached near the ISB, we saw smoke emanating from the bonnet, following which we immediately came out of the car, which immediately caught fire,” said Varinder.

A fire tender and a PCR van reached the spot. According to Varinder, some goods and important documents were also charred along with his vehicle. A complaint has been lodged at the Phase 11 police station in this regard.
