To celebrate the BJP’s win in the Lok Sabha elections, city BJP treasurer Raj Kishore organised a ‘bhandara’ in Sector 7 here. The programme was inaugurated by city BJP president Sanjay Tandon along with BJP organisational secretary for Chandigarh and Punjab Dinesh Kumar. Prominent leaders, BJP office bearers and activists were present on the occasion.

BJP media in-charge Ravinder Pathania said a large number of people gathered to celebrate the BJP’s victory and enjoyed ‘bread pakodas’ and ‘lassi’.

Raj Kishore, organiser of the event, said he had been associated with Narendra Modi for several years when the latter was a ‘kshetriya sangathan mantri’ in the city. He said he could not stop himself from celebrating this astounding victory for Modi who came back to power for the second consecutive time.

Tandon said he believes the new government will exceed people’s expectations and the country will touch new heights of development. — TNS
