A day after a 32-year-old nursing officer, Shiv Nath, alleged an assault by the DSP (Traffic) at the Kiran Cinema light point in Sector 22, the local police submitted a report of the incident to the SSP (Traffic).

The matter was investigated based on which a factual report was prepared by DSP (Central) Krishan Kumar, which has been sent to the SSP (Traffic).

SSP (Traffic) Shashank Anand said he would examine the report in the office tomorrow.

Police sources said the report contained the versions of both sides and the statements of witnesses from both sides. Meanwhile, during the investigation, the police did not find any clear video footage that could establish the allegations.

Yesterday, nursing officer Shiv Nath had alleged that he was assaulted by DSP SPS Sondhi in Sector 22. Shiv Nath was returning after attending a parent-teacher meeting with his two children and wife on a motorcycle, when he was stopped by the DSP since Shiv Nath’s wife and two children, aged 4 and 10, were not wearing helmets. Shiv Nath had alleged that he was punched on his nose by the DSP, while the DSP had claimed that Nath held his collar and when he opened the door of the vehicle, the door hit Nath’s helmet and he was injured.

The incident led to high drama at the spot when passersby gathered in support of Nath and did not allow the DSP to leave. The Police Control Room was informed following which a PCR vehicle was rushed to the spot. Nath and the DSP both filed their complaints at the Sector 22 police post and their medical examination was conducted at the GMSH-16.  Police officials said the complaints made by Nath and the DSP are at present under investigation as the medical reports were pending.

No clear footage

Police sources said the report contained the versions of both sides and the statements of witnesses. During the investigation, the police did not find any clear video footage that could establish the allegations.
