Parkash Purb: Second half of Friday to be a holiday in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Administration on Friday announced that the second half of the day will be observed as a holiday in all government offices in order to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.

The Chandigarh Administration on Friday announced that the second half of the day will be observed as a holiday in all government offices in order to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.  

The notification issued by the administration said: “8th November, 2019 (Friday) will now be observed as 2nd Half Day Holiday in all the Government Offices/ Boards/ Corporations/ Institutions including Industrial Establishments under the Chandigarh Administration and also within the meaning of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 on account 550th Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.”
