Prof Raj Kumar meets former PU VCs on centenary celebrations

CHANDIGARH: Prof Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University (PU), convened an interactive meeting of former VCs Prof RP Bambah, Prof MM Puri, Prof KN Pathak, Prof RC Sobti and Prof Arun Kumar Grover on celebrating the centenary year of the PU campus teaching in 2019.



Chandigarh, October 17

Prof Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University (PU), convened an interactive meeting of former VCs Prof RP Bambah, Prof MM Puri, Prof KN Pathak, Prof RC Sobti and Prof Arun Kumar Grover on celebrating the centenary year of the PU campus teaching in 2019. Coincidentally, 2019 is also the birth centenary of Prof RC Paul, who remained the PU VC for 10 years (1974-84).

During the meeting, it was suggested to release a postal stamp to mark the centenary celebrations. It was also proposed to hold a centenary commemoration symposium.

It was also discussed to send proposals to the Central Government for the funds required for the growth of the PU keeping in mind the decline in various rankings. — TNS
