Chandigarh, May 26

Members of the Panjab University Staff Association (PUSA) will hold a protest against the authorities over pending promotions. They met the Vice-Chancellor today and discussed their issues. If their demands are not met, they will hold a protest on Tuesday. However, the latest development in the matter is that the Registrar has called for the promotion files.

The members told the VC that there were no objections to the promotions and hence the delay was uncalled for. The promotions are currently late by three months. President of PUSA Deepak Kaushik said, “We will wait for three days and if our demands are not met, we will be force to hold a protest.” He added that the response from the VC was positive and he, thus, expects that their demands would be met.
