Rakshita defeats Avishi, moves to next round

Rakshita defeated Avishi 21-15 21-15 in the girls' U-13 opener during the Yonex Sunrise Chandigarh State Ranking Tournament, at the Sector 38 (West Complex), here today. 

Gurmannat won the second match by defeating Raiza 21-15 21-15. In the boys' U-13 category, Uday blanked Dakshmet 21-18 22-20 and Rehaan overpowered Aditya Kohli 21-18 21-19. Vaibhav moved ahead in the boys' U-15 category by registering a comeback 19-21 21-19 21-19 win over Piyush. Sarthak blanked Siddharth 21-18 21-18 in the other match.  

In the girls' U-15 category, Samreen defeated Rakshita 19-21 21-19 21-17 and Shagunpreet blanked Kanishka 21-18 21-19.  The tournament is being organised by Chandigarh Badminton Association.—TNS
