PATIALA:It was a splash of colours at the Rayat-Bahra Group Patiala Campus which hosted a talent hunt-cum-cultural fest `Aafreen -2017', an extravaganza of dance and music, to welcome the fresh students.

It was a splash of colours at the Rayat-Bahra Group Patiala Campus which hosted a talent hunt-cum-cultural fest `Aafreen -2017', an extravaganza of dance and music, to welcome the fresh students. It was a rich feast of cultural items and different competitions.

Bhangra and giddha were the two items that got wide applaud and young boys and girls dressed in their colourful best danced in gay abandon to the beat of drums and dhols.

The function was presided over by the Dean, Colleges, Punjabi University, Dr Kulbir Singh Dhillon; and Registrar, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET, Longowal), Prof Sanjay Marwaha. Skits, dances, melody songs, folk dances, folk songs, western  dance, and choreography were other highlights of the fiesta. — TNS
