MOHALI: Punjabis have made countless sacrifices for the country’s independence, but now our youths detest from choosing defense services as their career.

Mohali, February 15

Punjabis have made countless sacrifices for the country’s independence, but now our youths detest from choosing defense services as their career. This was stated by Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal while addressing students of Government College in Phase 6 here today.

The minister was in the town to inaugurate two-day ‘Tech Fest 2 K18’ at the college. Motivating the youth to join the Indian Army, the minister asked the college principal to ensure that at least 10 students from the college should appear in the examination for recruitment to the Army every year. The minister announced a grant of Rs 15 lakh for the college. On the first day of the fest, competitions such as IT quiz, code combat, face painting, innovative science models, web designing, and bio-rangoli were organised. — TNS
