Snatchers strike twice in city

CHANDIGARH: Even as security in the city has been stepped up in view of the festive season, snatchers struck twice yesterday.

Even as security in the city has been stepped up in view of the festive season, snatchers struck twice yesterday. 

According to the police, a woman resident of Sector 32 stated that an unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreant sped away after snatching her bag containing Rs 3,000 in cash, a mobile phone, an ATM card and some important documents. The incident took place near Saupin’s School. 

A case has been registered at the Sector 34 police station. 

In another incident reported on Monday night, a Sector 56 resident lost her gold earrings to a motorcycle-borne snatcher near her house. The victim could not note down the registration number of the motorcycle. 

A case has been registered at the Sector 39 police station.
