Soon, DANIPS cadre DSPs may have to serve outside city too

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh cadre Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) are all set for a merger with DANIPS cadre DSPs as the MHA is ready with a policy for the same.

Chandigarh, April 21

The Chandigarh cadre Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) are all set for a merger with DANIPS cadre DSPs as the MHA is ready with a policy for the same.

If approved, the new cadre will be named as the National Capital of Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Chandigarh (Police Services) Rules 2018. The MHA has invited suggestions or objections till May 19.

With the new policy being introduced, the DSPs of the Chandigarh Police, who at present serve in the city, only will have to serve in other UTs across the country where the DANIPS cadre DSPs are serving at present. As per the proposed policy, those DSPs who will be promoted within two years of their retirement will be allowed to stay back in Chandigarh.

The officers concerned of the UT can submit their suggestions or objections to the Chandigarh Police department till May 19, which will be further sent to the MHA by June 4. Objections can be directly mailed to the MHA as well till May 19. — TNS
