Chandigarh, April 17

Sumandeep Kaur of AIPSCB scored four points to lead women’s recurve Group-I on the opening day of the NTPC All-India Ranking Archery Championship at the Sector 17 circus ground here on Wednesday.

Preeti of RSPB also scored four points and finished the day in second place. Deepika Kumari and Ridhi Phor scored three points each to claim the third and fourth positions respectively. In Group-II, Madhu Vedwan and Ankita Bhakat scored four points each to occupy the top-two spots, respectively. Sakshi Shitole was third at three points.

Bombayla Devi led Group-III with a total of four points. She was closely followed by Sangeeta (4 points) in second place, while Suparna Singh (3 points) occupied the third spot. Komalika Bari scored four points to lead Group-IV. Rimil Biruly (4 points) and Asha Horo (3 points) claimed the second and third spots, respectively. Meanwhile, in the men’s recurve event, Mangal Champia led Group-I with four points. Tarundeep scored three points to claim the second spot, while Viswash (3 points) finished third. Jagdish Choudhary scored four points to lead Group-II with five points. Pravin Jadhav scored four points to bag second position and Kapil (3 points) finihsed third. Atnau Das (4 points), Atul (3 points) and Gora Ho (3 points) claimed the top-three positions in Group-III, while Chaman Singh scored three points to lead Group-IV. He was followed by Vakil Dindor (3 points) in second place, while Sukhchain (3 points) was third. — TNS
