VC discusses PU issues with Union ministers

CHANDIGARH: Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar recently met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for setting up Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence Centre.

Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar recently met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for setting up Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence Centre.

According to the PU spokesperson, the minister assured the Vice-Chancellor of all help to the university in this regard and said that the PU was having a great pool of scientists from all fields.

The Vice-Chancellor also met Amitabh Kant, CEO, National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog. The Vice-Chancellor informed him that all out efforts were being made for the growth of the PU.

Kant also assured the Vice-Chancellor of all possible help to the PU and asked him to submit proposals. The CEO of the NITI Aayog also assured of visiting the PU in near future.

Besides, Prof Raj Kumar also met RK Singh, Minister of State, and discussed the issues related to solar energy, wind energy and renewable sources. The minister asked the Vice-Chancellor to submit the projects related to renewable source of energy.

The Vice-Chancellor also held a meeting with Union Health Minister JP Nadda and discussed nuclear medicine and advanced research in cancer. Nadda urged him to encourage the researchers for working on the project.
