Chandigarh: Chandigarh Volleyball Association will organise the 45th Junior National Volleyball Championship from December 19 to 25, at Panjab University, under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India.



Chandigarh: Chandigarh Volleyball Association will organise the 45th Junior National Volleyball Championship from December 19 to 25, at Panjab University, under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India. A total of 60 teams will partcipate in both boys and girls categories. The national body will also select Indian junior teams during this championship. The organisers said that the event will be organised to honour the initiative of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao & Khelo India’. The Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore will inaugurate the championship, while the Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore will be the chief guest of the closing ceremony on December 25.

Roller hockey team wins gold 

Chandigarh: The local roller hockey U-19 team won the gold medal in the recently concluded 64th National School Games, at Belgaum (Karnataka). In the final of the championship, city boys registered a 3-2 win against Haryana, while earlier in the semis, they defeated Punjab 2-0. Anujit Kaur, District Education Officer, congratulated the team members and coaches.   

GA Qatar to conduct football camps  

Chandigarh: Human Rights Group of India in association with the General Amazing (GA), Qatar, will organise football talent hunt camps in the city in order to promote 2022 Football World Cup. The camps will start from next month in association with local schools and colleges, informed the organisers. A similar kind of five-day camp was conducted at Mukand Lal National Senior Secondary School, Yamunanagar.  TNS
