1,200-gm gold seized at IGI Airport

NEW DELHI:Around 1,200 gm of gold in paste form wrapped in two packets was seized by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) deployed at the security hold area at Terminal-3, IGI Airport, on Saturday.

Around 1,200 gm of gold in paste form wrapped in two packets was seized by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) deployed at the security hold area at Terminal-3, IGI Airport, on Saturday. 

The passenger carrying the gold was identified as Mohamed Ashfaque, who had arrived from Dubai and was bound for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was handed over to customs officials. During interrogation, he said he was supposed to hand over the gold to his relative Ashfaque Ahamed Mohtesham, who was later detained. —TNS
