A 28-year-old woman was killed while her husband and minor daughter were injured on Wednesday after a speeding BSF staff bus hit their scooter at Lodhi flyover, the police said. According to the police, they received information about the incident at around 11 am. Zamil Alam (40), a resident of Madangiri, his wife Nelofer and seven-year-old daughter Khushi were taken to a hospital, where Nelofer was declared brought dead, a senior police officer said. PTI

Man held for duping people on pretext of employment 

A 57-year-old Bengaluru man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly duping people by promising them jobs in Australia, the police said. According to the police, the matter came to light after the police received complaints from five persons alleging that they were duped by DH John Paul of Rs 28.5 lakhs in total by making false promises. A 23-year-old man allegedly involved in over 20 cases of robbery and snatching was arrested from northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area, the police said on Wednesday. “Interrogation revealed that he was first arrested in 2018 when he along with his associates fired on Mohammad Saifi, a resident of Welcome, to implicate a rival,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) G Ram Gopal Naik said. Two men were arrested for allegedly robbing people at gunpoint in Dwarka's Baba Haridas Nagar, police said on Wednesday. The accused have been identified as Ram Gopal (26) and Sikandar (21), they said. A country-made pistol and two live cartridges were seized from their possession, said the police. PTI
