City BJP chief discusses planning with Amit Shah

NEW DELHI:Just on rhe second day of the MCD results in which the BJP got a thumping majority, a schedule of meetings has begun to chalk out further plan of action in the civic body and in the party organisation.

Just on rhe second day of the MCD results in which the BJP got a thumping majority, a schedule of meetings has begun to chalk out further plan of action in the civic body and in the party organisation.

Sources in the BJP said Delhi unit chief of the saffron party Manoj Tiwari today visited the national president Amit Shah to chalk out the future planning and a list of the councillors who would be given coveted posts in all the three civic bodies.

According to the sources, name of the mayors, Leader of the House and chairman of the all powerful Standing Committees will be decided in the party office before schedule of election of coveted posts are announced by the department of the municipal corporations of Delhi.

Though all the councillors are first timers, they are putting weight for getting the plum posts in the corporations.

A senior official of the MCD said with a few days the election result would be notified by the Lieutenant Governor office. Once it is notified, the department concerned will make the schedule of councillors swearing-in-ceremony and on that occasion mayors will also be elected.

He said Leader of the House and chairman of the standing committee will be elected by the chairmen of the ward committees.

The swearing-in ceremony will be presided over by an official of the LG office in whose presence mayors’ election will also be held, the official said.
