New Delhi, June 21

Enthusiastic Delhiites turned up in large numbers at Rajpath, various parks and public squares across the city to perform yoga to mark the fourth International Yoga Day today.

Union minister Harsh Vardhan, LG Anil Baijal and senior BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi took part in the celebrations. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, whose name was there in the guest list, missed the occasion due to health reasons.

The Rajpath looked majestic as old and young, dressed in colourful attire, rolled out their mats and performed various asanas. Traffic was restricted around the area during the time. The Delhi Police also participated the celebrations.

The Yoga Day was also celebrated by Janki Devi Memorial College on the college premises. Principal Dr Swati Pal, along with faculty members, students, and the non-teaching staff, participated in this event. — TNS
