Delhi Waqf Board faces staff crunch

NEW DELHI:The Delhi Waqf Board is facing severe shortage of staff and has around 68 sanctioned posts are vacant for decades.



New Delhi, April 15

The Delhi Waqf Board is facing severe shortage of staff and has around 68 sanctioned posts are vacant for decades.

The board is supposed to look after the upkeep of over 2,000 Muslim properties, including land, shops, residential buildings, across the capital, but owing to vacancies these are not being filled for decades. 

The works of the management of the properties has been severely affected, said a senior official of the board.

The broad presently has a strength of 36 employees  while there are vacancies of surveyors, junior engineers, zonal officers and revenue staff. – TNS
