New Delhi, October 21

The Leader of Opposition, Vijender Gupta said the Arvind Kejriwal government had cheated Puravanchalis as it had failed to fulfil its promise to make pacca Chhath ghats. Not a single pacca ghat has been constructed.

Gupta reminded the Kejriwal government that it had announced to make 180 concrete Chhath ghats which are to be seen nowhere. Even the work has not started. Purvanchalis are now themselves making temporary arrangements at these ghats according to their requirements.

Gupta today visited Western Yamuna Canal to take stock of preparations for Chhath Puja. He said on the demand of Chhath Puja Samities, he in a letter addressed to the CM office in first week of February this year and had demanded construction of a pacca Chhath ghat on Western Yamuna Canal near Bawana Road. These samitis have been demanding the construction of pacca Chhath ghat at the spot for the past three years.

He said no action has been taken in this regard so far. There are only two days left for Chhath Puja to begin but no arrangement is seen on these ghats.
