Teenager gangraped near R.K. Puram

 

New Delhi, December 20

 

An 18-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by a 20-year-old youth and a juvenile in Mohammadpur near R.K. Puram, south Delhi last night, the police said.

 

The police have arrested the accused, Rahul and the juvenile, whose identity cannot be revealed. "The accused and the victim are from Jalpaiguri in West Bengal and have known one another for the past one year. They had come to Delhi for work. They stay together at rented accommodation in Mohammadpur and work as servants there," said a police officer, privy to the details of the case.

 

About 2 am today, the victim had dialled 100 and reported that she had been gangraped, according to the officer. The police took her to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where her medical examination was conducted.

"The medical examination does not reveal that she suffered any injuries caused by rape," said the officer.

However, the police have registered a case under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of the IPC. "The victim alleged that the three of them were having a party in Mohammadpur. Later, they raped her," said the officer.
