23-year-old shot dead over land dispute

NEW DELHI:A 23-year-old man was shot dead allegedly over a land dispute in Azadpur Mandi area early on Tuesday, a police official said.



New Delhi, April 23

A 23-year-old man was shot dead allegedly over a land dispute in Azadpur Mandi area early on Tuesday, a police official said.

The deceased has been identified as Akash, a resident of Mukundpur in Delhi.

Akash, who was a clerk at a merchant company, was killed over a dispute over possession of a land with another merchant in Azadpur Mandi.

A senior police official said the information was received regarding the incident around 3.39 am today following which, they rushed to the spot.

Akash was rushed to Fortis Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

A case under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered and the accused identified as Mohit has been apprehended.

Medical student commits suicide

A 22-year-old medical student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside his room in GTB Hospital, said a police official said on Tuesday.

 The deceased has been identified as, Ashish Chaudhary (22), a native of Jaipur, Rajasthan. He was a third-year student at the medical college associated with Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Shahdara, he said.

 The DCP (Shahdara) said Chaudhary, who was a third-year student of MBBS at University College of Medical Sciences, committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan with the help of a cloth.  — PTI
