ABOHAR: Fifteen persons, including four from Fazilka district — were arrested in Sriganganagar yesterday while trying to flee from the venue of an illegally organised pit-bull dog fight in a border village.

Fifteen persons, including four from Fazilka district — were arrested in Sriganganagar yesterday while trying to flee from the venue of an illegally organised pit-bull dog fight in a border village.

Lakhs of rupees were reportedly put at stake. These participants attempted to speed away with four wild dogs after a dispute.

The police said a Cruiser, a three-wheeler and several motorcycles were impounded. Those arrested under Sections 109 and 151 of the CrPC are Balram Luhar (Khuyiansarwer) and Chhinda Singh and Gurpreet Singh (Pattisadiq) of Abohar, Ram Bawri (Fazilka), Rajesh Bishnoi (Rodanwali), Ravi Guru, Raj Kumar, Sewa Ram, Kishan Bawri, Saleem, Palwinder Singh Toti and Rakesh (all from Sriganganagar), Sisandeep Singh (Suratgarh), Chander Prakash (Mammukhera) and Sukhbir Singh (Jaitsar).
