Ahead of Durbar Move, facilities reviewed

SRINAGAR: Ahead of the biannual Durbar Move exercise, Director, Estates, Dr GN Itoo today visited various Estates colonies in and around Srinagar city to take stock of facilities for government employees.

Ahead of the biannual Durbar Move exercise, Director, Estates, Dr GN Itoo today visited various Estates colonies in and around Srinagar city to take stock of facilities for government employees.

During his visit to the newly constructed Estates flats at Pampore, Itoo as per an official statement asked the officials concerned to expedite pending works and complete the same within a fortnight so that the process of allotment of the quarters was undertaken well before the ensuing Durbar Move. He also asked the PHE Department and the PDD to supply clean drinking water and electricity to the quarters.

He reviewed security measures for the newly constructed quarters, including setting up of pickets and installation of concertina wires. He also visited Estates colonies at Tulsi Bagh and Budshah Bridge. During the visit, he called for timely completion of repair/renovation work of the quarters and providing basic facilities to the allottees well ahead of the Durbar Move. He also told the officials concerned to ensure cleanliness in and around the colonies and rectify the problems related to drainage and seepage. He also called for immediate face-lifting and beautification of parks within the colonies. He ordered initiating eviction drive against illegal allottees so that the quarters become available for allotment to the deserving employees.
