Azad smells foul play, demands probe

JAMMU: Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed shock over the fire incident in the Bhatyas area.

Jammu, April 20

Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed shock over the fire incident in the Bhatyas area.

In a statement, Azad said that a week ago more than 30 shops were gutted on the same road, 5 km from today’s incident site. “This is the sixth time that shops have caught fire on the Thatri-Gandoh road. This looks a deep conspiracy and some organisation is definitely behind this.” “I am told that some powder-like inflammable substance was seen at the site of the fire. This has given room to suspicion of a foul play. The authorities must look into the causes of repeated fire incidents at this particular site,” said Azad.

“My sympathies are with the affected families. The state administration must provide immediate help and financial support to those affected by the devastating blaze. Also, an inquiry must be conducted to uncover the mystery of such fire incidents taking place in a particular area.” — TNS
