Azam Khan involved in Ravi’s death: Prachi

Sadhvi Prachi on Friday accused Uttar Pradesh Cabinet minister Azam Khan of connivance in the “murder” of Ravi in prison. Ravi was the main accused in the lynching of Dadri incident victim Akhlaq. Akhlaq was lynched by a mob on the suspicion that he ate beef in Dadri, Gautam Buddh Nagar, in September last year. Prachi, who was at the Bhoopatwala ashram, said the UP Government, on the directives of Azam Khan, paid Akhlaq’s family Rs 50 lakh grant but gave just Rs 10 lakh to Ravi’s family members after his death in the prison.“Azam Khan is the focal point of the bias being done towards Ravi’s family. There are reasons to believe that the UP Cabinet Minister plotted and used his influence to get Ravi killed in prison. This is dirty politics in wake of upcoming Assembly elections. But voters will show the Samajwadi Party the door as was done in 2014 parliamentary elections,” Sadhvi Prachi said.Demanding a relief compensation of Rs 1 crore to Ravi’s family, Prachi said she had recently met his mother and wife who are living in fear and dejection. — TNS
