Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda slammed the BJP-led state government here today for not maintaining the sports infrastructure developed by the Congress government in its 10-year regime.

Regarding the performance of Indian contingent at Rio Olympics, Hooda said: “There is enough talent across the country, but the government needs to boost their morale.” He said: “Sakshi made India proud with her exceptional performance at Rio. I want that the government should reward her, rather appoint her as the DSP.”

He said: “We had motivated sportspersons with our policy ‘Padak Lao, Pad Pao’, but now there is a need to bring improvement in the sports policy by the BJP government”. He said: “We had constructed stadiums at villages for the promotion of the sports culture, but the BJP government is not paying attention towards sports infrastructure now.” — OC
