Green Land Convent School record facile win

LUDHIANA: Green Land Convent School, Chandigarh road branch, registered a facile win by 10 wickets against HVM School on the third day of the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex Cricket Tournament being held at Green Land Stadium, Manj Phagowal on the GT Road near Hardy’s World, today.

Green Land Convent School, Chandigarh road branch, registered a facile win by 10 wickets against HVM School on the third day of the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex Cricket Tournament being held at Green Land Stadium, Manj Phagowal on the GT Road near Hardy’s World, today.

Batting first, HVM School failed to cope up with the accurate bowling and fine fielding by Green Land Convent School as they could muster only 45 runs after losing five wickets. Sudhanshu was the highest scorer with 11 runs. He was followed by Rishab and Shivansh who contributed 8 and 5 runs, respectively.

For Green Land School, the successful bowlers were Midhwan, Rahul and Arun who restricted HVM School’s innings to a meagre total.

The opening pair of Gurkamal and Arun steered Green Land School to victory in just 6.2 overs without being separated. Gurkamal scored 24 runs, while Arun made 14 runs.

In another match, Guru Gobind Singh Public School (GGSPS), Daad, defeated DCM Presidency School by eight wickets.

DCM Presidency School made 62 runs for the loss of four wickets. Pranav Gupta scored 19 runs, while Rajveer and Saurav chipped in with 14 and 13 runs, respectively.

For GGSPS, Dilpreet claimed two victims for 11 runs, while Simrandeep and Navjot captured one wicket each after conceding five and 11 runs, respectively.

The third match was played between St Thomas Senior Secondary School and DAV Public School, Pakhowal road branch, in which the former came out triumphant with ease by eight wickets.

In reply to the DAV School’s score of 49 runs (Shivam 13 and Kushal 7), St Thomas School made 50 runs losing two wickets in which Vansh contributed 22 runs.

In the fourth match, Guru Nanak International Public School drubbed Saraswati Modern School by 30 runs.

Guru Nanak International School set a target of 66 runs but Saraswati School could muster just 35 runs in the stipulated 10 overs.
