Hisar, April 8

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the expansion of the Hisar airport to an international airport would begin as soon as the Central government grants permission to the state government.

The Chief Minister, while interacting with mediapersons at the airport here, said the government would start the work as soon as the approval from the Central government is received.

Khattar said the government had taken up with the Centre the ambitious airport project in Hisar. “We have been making consistent efforts in this regard and the expansion of the airport will start as soon as the Central government gives its nod to the project,” he added.

Khattar, during a brief stay here on his way to attend a function in Sirsa, met Chief Parliamentary Secretary and local MLA Kamal Gupta and other officials to review the progress of development works in the district. Warehousing Corporation chairman Shrinivas Goel, Divisional Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan and Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Gajraj were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister claimed that 43 per cent of the development works were announced by him. “The state government stresses on quality in development works. “Development projects are being implemented expeditiously across the state. While 43 per cent of the announcements have already been implemented, the remaining will also be commissioned at the earliest,” he added.
