Chamliyal to get nagar panchayat status: CM

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Harish Rawat today announced that Chamliyal would be upgraded to Nagar Panchayat, sanctioned six classrooms for Government Inter-College at Nageshwarsaud, and extension of the Lata-Sitakot-Bhatgaon road.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat today announced that Chamliyal would be upgraded to Nagar Panchayat, sanctioned six classrooms for Government Inter-College at Nageshwarsaud, and extension of the Lata-Sitakot-Bhatgaon road.

Rawat announced to start science stream in Bal Ganga University, and upgradation of upper primary school on the concluding day of the three day Basant Panchmi fete held at Nageshwarsaud in Ghanshyali Assembly area.

The Chief Minister said every possible measures would be taken by the state government to build infrastructure in the mountainous areas of the state. He assured the gathering that roads would be widened to ensure smooth flow of traffic in tough terrains of the state.

He said the state government had already hiked salary of Asha workers, and pension schemes had been sanctioned for farmers and folk artistes, who attained the age of 60 years.

Rawat said the pension had been revised for widows, differently abled and senior citizens. He assured that the state government was committed to revive tourism sector in the state.

MLA Bheemlal Arya, former MLA BS Negi, Neelam Bisht, Vijay Ghunshola, Dhanilal Shah, LS Panwar, and many more were present.
