2 theft cases solved, accused arrested

Two theft cases have been solved by the Janipur police within a week and the accused have been arrested.

Two theft cases have been solved by the Janipur police within a week and the accused have been arrested.

The Janipur police had registered two theft complaints, one from Rajkumari, wife of Vijay Gupta, resident of Lakkar Mandi, Janipur, regarding the theft of her two gold bangles of 5 tolas of gold, and another from Anil Sharma, resident of Lakkar Mandi, Janipur, for the theft of two gold necklaces, two gold chains one gold kada, two gold bangles and two gold rings.

During the course of investigation, Deepak Sudan, resident of Siot, Rajouri, but at present residing in Lakkar Mandi, Janipur, was arrested. He confessed that he along with his two friends, namely Akshay Gupta and Sunny Sharma, both residents of Lakkar Mandi, committed the theft from the house of Rajkumari. After committing theft they sold the gold items to a jeweller, Rajpal Singh, resident of Sanik Colony, Jammu. The gold items were recovered from the possession of Rajpal Singh.

On questioning, Sunny Sharma accepted that he had committed one more theft in the house of Anil Sharma with his two accomplices, namely Rahul Gautam and Nihar Sharma, both residents of Lakkar Mandi.

The police arrested these two persons, who later confessed that they had sold some gold items to jeweller Vikas Verma and Rajpal Singh.

The police has recovered two gold necklaces of 6 tolas, two gold rings of 2 tolas, two gold chains of 2 tolas, gold kada of 2 tolas, two gold bangles of 3 tolas, two gold bangles of 5 tolas from these jewellers.
