District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat launched mobile app ECI 360 for the forthcoming Assembly elections here today.

The app will help voters know the details about candidates in the constituency, polling station location map and address, name and contact number of the BLO, RO, District Election Officer and the Chief Election Officer concerned. Information about the candidates will also be available on the mobile app. As a pilot, information about rush at polling booths, updated every two hours, would be available in the mobile app for three constituencies of Ludhiana — Central, East and West — and a constituency of Jalandhar – Jalandhar Central.

Persons with disabilities would be able to request for assistance from the district administration, including pick and drop facility in Ludhiana, with the help of app.

Candidates, whose application is accepted by the RO, would be able to access the detailed list of the polling stations in the contesting constituency, along with details of the polling booths. Candidates can also request permission for application for vehicle permit, permit to take out procession and using loudspeaker and information about the counting centre.

Mediapersons would be able to access information on polling stations, contesting candidates along with their affidavits and poll percentage.

Bhagat said the mobile app had been prepared by the district administration for the Election Commission. It had been developed by Ludhiana-based IT firm o1 Synergy Group, he said. It would be subsequently adopted by the Election Commission to be used across the country, he added.

Real-time election results would also be accessible through this app for all users.
