Mandi MP Ram Swaroop Sharma has come down heavily on Congress leaders for opposing the Land Acquisition Bill which was unfortunate and ridiculous as they had no knowledge about the life of farmers.

Addressing mediapersons here today, the MP appealed to the masses not to be misled by the propaganda of the Congress. The MP said when the UPA government brought the land acquisition Bill, the NDA had supported it for the cause of the national development. But now Congress leaders had been instigating the people against this Bill. As per the provisions of the Bill brought by the Modi government at the Centre, Sharma stated that the farmers would be given fair compensation of their land four times more than the market value and employment to their families. He said in this Bill, the interests of the farmers had been taken care of.

He stated that the pace of national development which included national highways and various other development projects would now be accelerated on a war footing.

A sum of Rs 360 crore had been earmarked by the Centre for the expansion of the railways network in Himachal Pradesh, Sharma further said.
