In a one-sided encounter, the hosts defeated Shri Guru Harkrishan School, Sector 38, 16-2 during the St Kabir Basketball Trophy at Sector 26 here today.

Tanush Puri collected eight points for the winning side, while Anurag gathered the two points scored by the visitors.

In the second match in the boys’ category, St Soldier School, Panchkula, defeated Strawberry Fields World School, Sector 26, 25-23. In a closely contested tie, Ajay gathered 10 points for the winning side, while Vaibhav reduced the margin for the losing outfit by scoring 11 points.

In the third match, New Public School, Sector 18, posted a 19-8 victory over St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, helped by seven points gathered by Gagandeep. For the losing side, Shaurya contributed with six points.

In the girls’ category, New Public School beat Ashiana Public School 16-10, with Rupali starring in the team’s win by contributing 12 points. In the next match, Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, defeated Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, 56-43. Mehak (17 points), Amrit (16 points) and Sita (12 points) scored the major share in the team’s win. For the losing side, Reet bagged 17 points.

In other matches in the girls’ category, Strawberry Fields World School beat St Soldier School, Chandigarh, 20-17; St Kabir School defeated St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, 24-13 and St Joseph’s School got the better of Ashiana Public School 48-22.
