Dera Sacha Sauda followers on Monday blocked the Ludhiana-Malerkotla road as police have failed to nab the killers of a man and his son here.

Earlier, tempers rose as the followers wanted to block the road. But, Mahinderpal, head of the 45-member state committee, persuaded them not to take law into their own hands. He said the bodies would not be cremated till the accused were nabbed. Dera followers, majority of them women, demanded a chakka jam.

Later, the dera followers blocked the road, and stopped a PRTC bus, with around 40 passengers, on its way from Kaithal to Gurdaspur.

Meanwhile, dera leaders requested the followers not to indulge in violence.

Later, the bus was allowed to go.

Around 3,000 men and women are sitting on the road as the committee decided to block the road till the killers were nabbed.
