Ex-tehsil supply officer held for corruption

JAMMU: The State Vigilance Organisation has arrested a former tehsil supply officer (TSO) of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department, now Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCSCA), allegedly for accumulating huge movable and immovable assets through corrupt practices.



Jammu, February 22

The State Vigilance Organisation has arrested a former tehsil supply officer (TSO) of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department, now Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCSCA), allegedly for accumulating huge movable and immovable assets through corrupt practices.

According to the official spokesperson, the accused has been identified as the then TSO, CAPD Department, Shabir Ahmed Magary of Thrintha Reasi village.

“Brief facts of the case are that Magary, during his posting in the CAPD Department, the accused has huge bank balances, land at different places and a palatial house at Thrintha Reasi and is also running a steel fabrication shop at Thrintha Reasi in the name of his wife,” the spokesperson said, adding, “He is also in possession of luxurious household articles.” — TNS
