Former cop booked in assets case

CHANDIGARH:The UT Vigilance Department has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act against retired UT Inspector Rajesh Shukla on a complaint of the SP, CBI.

The UT Vigilance Department has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act against retired UT Inspector Rajesh Shukla on a complaint of the SP, CBI.

Sources said a complaint regarding disproportionate assets against Rajesh Shukla was made by Ram Gopal, SP, CBI.

The CBI had submitted a report regarding properties in Shukla’s name. 

Vigilance sleuths conducted raids on houses in Sector 48 and Sector 50 from where documents relating to property and investments were seized. 

Shukla was arrested by CBI in 2014 

Shukla, who was posted as the SHO of the Sector 34 police station, was arrested by the CBI in September 2014 while allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a parking contractor. A head constable and a constable were also arrested by the CBI.
