The police have booked four travel agents in two cases on the charge of duping two youths to the tune of Rs 11.35 lakh.

Kesar Nath of Bagriya told the police that he paid Rs 6.8 lakh to Sanjeev Kumar of Tungaheri village in 2015 after the latter promised to send him abroad on a work permit. However, Sanjeev neither kept his word nor returned the money, Kesar said.

In the second case, travel agents Harjit Singh, Swarn Singh and Hakam Singh allegedly duped Jasvir Singh of Rs 4.55 lakh on the pretext of sending him to the Philippines. “We have registered a case and are conducting a probe,” said investigating officer Pargat Singh, posted at Sherpur police station.
