Srinagar, September 22

Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, called on Governor NN Vohra, Chairman of the board, at the Raj Bhawan here today. He briefed him about the progress of the board’s various ongoing projects in Katra and the shrine area.

An official statement said the Governor reviewed the to-date status of ongoing upgradation of all wayside facilities for pilgrims, particularly “bhojanalayas”, drinking water points, lavatories and other facilities.

The Governor directed the CEO to ensure time-bound completion of all remaining works, including the planting of soil-binding flowering plants all along the track to enhance the ambience of the journey.

Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, also called on the Governor.

Jain briefed the Governor about the to-date status of important academic, administrative and infrastructural development issues in the university and the profile of admissions in different disciplines.

The Governor stressed timely and adequate investments being made for enhancing facilities for teaching and research, library, indoor and outdoor sports and extra-mural facilities for students.
