New Delhi, August 26

The Supreme Court today directed DLF Ltd to hand over the possession of flats to about 50 members of the DLF Valley project in Panchkula by November 30.

A Bench comprising Justices Dipak Misra and C Nagappan, however, reduced the interest from 12 per cent to 9 per cent for the delay in the project.

DLF Ltd had come to the apex court, challenging the order of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for payment of 12 per cent interest. The commission had passed the order on a plea by SK Malhotra and others.

Nearly 1,500 home buyers had joined the DLF Valley project and most of them have got possession. The company assured the apex court that the litigants would get their flats by the November 30 deadline.
