Members of Jhorar khap today said the Jats in the state would have to sit on railway tracks like the Gujjars in Rajasthan have been doing, if they wanted to get back their OBC reservation.

The Jhorar khap members met at Bani village of Sirsa under its president Vinod Jhorar to discuss participation of Jats from Sirsa in any future agitation on the reservation issue.

Several prominent members of the khap, including sarpanch Om Prakash, Ram Kumar Jhorar, Subhash Jhorar, sarpanch Baldev, Raghubir Jhorar and several others participated.

Vinod Jhorar alleged those taking decisions sitting within the confines of their drawing rooms did not have any knowledge of the ground realities.

He said if they were to be moved, agitation was the only way before the Jats. He alleged the SC decision against the Jat reservation was the result of poor pleading of the case by the Centre.

Jhorar khap also criticised the Central government for its stubbornness on anti-farmers Land Acquisition Bill and alleged that this would empower government snatch farmers’ land for big corporate.
