Joga Singh Khalistani cremated

After the dharna was lifted by supporters of Joga Singh Khalistani yesterday, Khalistani was cremated at his village near Ludhiana on Friday.

Notably, supporters in large numbers had been sitting on dharna since October 6 outside Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, the day when Joga succumbed to his injuries. Yesterday, after the assurance was given by the police to declare the main accused, Sandeep Singh, a proclaimed offender, supporters lifted the dharna.

Sukhjit Singh Khosa, chief of Satikar Committee, who led the dharna, said, the dharna was lifted after assurance by the police. However, they had given a deadline of 15 days to the police to nab Sandeep Singh, otherwise the supporters would resort to protest again.
