The Khanna police dispatched seven vehicles in the district today to make people aware about elections and free and fair polling.

Khanna DSP (headquarters) today formally launched these four-wheelers for different areas. These vehicles will be carrying police and para-military personnel and will immediately reach a spot in case of any mishap.

Khanna SSP Satinder Singh said the district police was making all-round arrangements for smooth polling. He appealed to the public to inform the police if any person tries to lure them and practice fear-free polling.

He said the police would act as per the directions of the Election Commission if anybody tried to influence voters by any means.

The SSP said 13 para-military companies would be deployed in the district out of which two companies had already reached and had been deployed at key points along with district police personnel.

He appealed to the parties and candidates to follow the model code of conduct. No one would be allowed to take the law into their hand and the police would take strict action against those not abiding by the law.
