Manimahesh Lake freezes

CHAMBA: The high-altitude lakes, including the famous Manimahesh Lake in the mountainous terrains of Bharmour in Chamba district, had frozen following heavy snowfall on the third consecutive day, reports reaching here today said.

The high-altitude lakes, including the famous Manimahesh Lake in the mountainous terrains of Bharmour in Chamba district, had frozen following heavy snowfall on the third consecutive day, reports reaching here today said.

The reports revealed that it had been raining in the lower areas till the filing of the story. As a result, the entire region was shivering with intense cold waves. The life in snow-capped ranges had become difficult as the roads linking these areas had been covered under snow and the people had to trudge on foot to bring their daily need goods from the nearby shops, the reports informed. At many places, the residents had to melt the snow for their drinking purpose also, the reports said.
