The Mohali Municipal Commissioner Uma Shankar Gupta shot off a communiqué to the Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police and the Deputy Commissioner to provide security to his staff, responsible for lifting illegal ‘rehris’ and domesticated animals, which are let out by their owners, from the Mohali roads.

Confirming the development, MC Commissioner Gupta said “My staff is being threatened and sometimes assaulted by owners of the animals, which roam on the city roads, and illegal ‘rehriwalas’, many of whom apparently have political patronage at local level.
