The Sanjha Morcha of Chamba today organised a ‘chetna rally’ in the town to build pressure on the government for the opening of a medical college at Chamba from the current academic session.

During the rally, the morcha aired its grievances like filling vacant posts of specialist, doctor and paramedical staff at the regional hospital in particular and the district health institutions in general.

Morcha convener PC Oberoi said the recently formed Sanjha Morcha comprising of about 26 social organisations of this area would continue its fight for the common cause of Chamba and till the medical college was not opened here.

On the contrary, reports revealed that there was no sign of any office for the opening of the medical college in the town till date. Neither the faculty of the college had so far been appointed nor any prospectus made available, the reports further said.
