Members of the All India National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Workers and Employees Federation led by general secretary Munshi Ram Salalia organised a rally, which was attended by hundreds of workers from all over the country.
The participants carried banners and placards and passed through the main bazaars of Katra.
After the rally, leaders of the trade unions from different parts of the state addressed the gathering.
Addressing the gathering, NHPCgeneral secretary Salalia condemned the move of the Central Government for proposing amendments in existing labour laws to benefit corporate houses. By doing so, the government would snatch the right to work of the workforce, he said.
